How to Dislike an Artist on Spotify
In today’s digital age, music streaming platforms like Spotify have become an integral part of our daily lives. With a vast library of songs at our fingertips, it’s easy to get lost in the vast sea of artists and genres. However, there may come a time when you find yourself no longer interested in an artist’s music. In this article, we will guide you through the process of disliking an artist on Spotify, ensuring that your playlists remain tailored to your preferences.
1. Accessing the Artist’s Page
The first step in disliking an artist on Spotify is to find their page. Open the Spotify app on your device and navigate to the search bar. Type in the name of the artist you wish to dislike and select their profile from the search results. This will take you to their artist page, where you can view their songs, albums, and playlists.
2. Disliking a Song
To dislike an artist, you can start by disliking one of their songs. While on the artist’s page, find a song you no longer enjoy and tap on the three dots (•••) next to it. A menu will appear with various options, including “Like” and “Dislike.” Tap on “Dislike” to mark the song as one you don’t want to hear.
3. Disliking an Entire Album
If you find that you dislike all the songs from an artist’s album, you can dislike the entire album at once. While on the artist’s page, scroll down to find the album you wish to dislike. Tap on the album cover, and a new menu will appear. Select “Dislike” from the options to mark the album as one you don’t want to hear.
4. Disliking the Artist
Once you have disliked a song or an album from an artist, you can proceed to dislike the artist themselves. While on the artist’s page, tap on the artist’s name at the top of the screen. This will take you to their profile page. Scroll down and tap on the three dots (•••) next to their name. From the menu that appears, select “Dislike.” This will mark the artist as one you no longer want to see in your playlists or recommendations.
5. Removing the Artist from Playlists
If you want to ensure that the artist’s music never appears in your playlists, you can remove them from your existing playlists. Go to your profile page, tap on “Playlists,” and then select the playlist you want to edit. Tap on the three dots (•••) next to the artist’s song or album, and choose “Remove from Playlist.” Repeat this process for all the playlists where you want to remove the artist.
By following these steps, you can effectively dislike an artist on Spotify and ensure that their music no longer clutter your playlists. Remember, the beauty of streaming platforms like Spotify is that you can constantly tailor your listening experience to your preferences.
