How to Remove Artist from Spotify Recommendations
Spotify’s personalized recommendation system is designed to provide users with a curated list of songs and artists based on their listening habits. However, sometimes you may find that certain artists or songs are consistently popping up in your recommendations, and you want to remove them. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to remove an artist from Spotify recommendations.
1. Identify the Artist
The first step is to identify the artist you want to remove from your recommendations. This can be done by checking your recently played list or by browsing through the recommended playlists.
2. Access Your Library
Once you have identified the artist, open the Spotify app and navigate to your library. This can usually be found in the bottom right corner of the app’s main screen.
3. Go to the Artist’s Page
In your library, scroll through the list of artists and find the one you want to remove. Tap on the artist’s name to open their page.
4. Unfollow the Artist
On the artist’s page, you will see a follow button. If you have already followed the artist, this button will be highlighted. Tap on the follow button to unfollow the artist. This will stop Spotify from showing you new releases or related artists from that particular artist.
5. Hide the Artist’s Songs
If you want to remove the artist’s songs from your recommendations entirely, you can hide their songs from your library. To do this, go back to the artist’s page and tap on the three dots in the top right corner. Then, select “Hide from Library.” This will remove the artist’s songs from your library and prevent them from appearing in your recommendations.
6. Clear Your Listening History
If you want to ensure that the artist’s songs do not appear in your recommendations at all, you can clear your listening history. Go to your profile page by tapping on the profile icon in the top right corner of the app. Then, tap on “Your Library” and select “History.” From there, you can clear your listening history by tapping on the three dots next to the artist’s name and selecting “Remove.”
7. Rebuild Your Library
After removing the artist from your recommendations, it’s a good idea to rebuild your library. This will help Spotify learn your preferences and provide you with more accurate recommendations. To rebuild your library, go to your profile page, tap on “Your Library,” and then select “Library.” From there, you can add new artists, playlists, and albums to your library.
By following these steps, you can effectively remove an artist from your Spotify recommendations and enjoy a more personalized listening experience.
